3XN Research and Development department together with Photo Solar, 1st Mile, VELUX and the Danish Architecture Centre will initiate a new project, “Light and Energy”, funded by a DKK 4 million grant from the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority
The Light and Energy project will explore possibilities for the development of energy saving and daylight-enhancing building components and architecture.
These components are a key factor in reducing CO2 emissions in the building sector. There is an enormous and unexploited potential for use of solar energy in building, and optimizing sunlight utility and minimizing heat loss is a huge challenge. Thus, re-thinking the value chain and developing new light and energy products is paramount to future building, and an important step on the road to reduce CO2 emissions.
